 being a counselor you need to listen and respect the person, and letting them speak by taking a turn and letting them have some time to talk, and understand where they are coming from and how it is affecting them, and taking turns speaking instead of one of you talking the whole time, and when sending emails you need to polite formal and straight forward, make sure to bond with them while talking to them and make it more of an interesting conversation to make the person feel better, be polite and respect them and talk to them in such a way that it cant offend them at all so the situation keeps calm, to get better at this taking to people and making interesting conversations with people (can be random people) if you prefer to talk to someone you know then do so.

 for the first task, we have to measure 115mm onto a piece of 20 / 3 mild steel flat bar metal and mark it with a scribe and then use a square to make the rest of the line with the scribe and then put it into a vice and cut it with a hacksaw to length and then filled the end and removed the burs of the corners / edges.

 Why was Germany hit the hardest during the great depression?

The Great Depression was the single worst economic collapse in world history. Many people in the world lost their jobs, banks lost their money, and nearly all faith in the economy was lost. Unemployment rose to a record 33% in some places during the depression. The Great Depression was one of the most important things to happen in the world and financial history. The effects of The Great Depression lasted for many years, especially in Germany where it was caused, meaning Germany had to suffer the most because it was not safe to work, and banks couldn't earn money because people didn't have jobs to pay.

Why did Germany have to sign the Treaty Of Versailles?

WWI created the Treaty of Versailles which led to the punishment of Germany. Many Germans thought they had unfair rules and regulations. The terms of the Treaty made Germany give up most of its military power. Additionally, Germany had to give up conquered land. Also, after WW1 it had many effects on Germany. Shortly after the Treaty was signed the German Government was in a state of chaos until the Weimar system was introduced into Germany, which was in place for a little over a decade and the system had many flaws especially during Hyperinflation and Depression. So the German people were in need of a rescuer. Then Hitler came along promising to gain back power in Germany but started a war with the actions he made like attacking other nations and taking over the land. 

How did the great depression affect New Zealand?

As with most countries outside of Russia, New Zealand was affected by the huge reduction in exports, the largest unemployment that they had seen, meaning that there was little money available. New Zealand was very unprepared for an event like the depression and this showed in how much it struggled with the exports being reduced and people blamed the government for this after they had promised a set price for the exports.

1.this system is basically the lungs which are responsible for the absorption of oxygen into the bloodstream and expelling carbon dioxide from the body

2.this occurs by breathing air into and out of the lungs. 

3. the oxygen moves from a high concentration (the air we breathe in)  to a low concentration in the blood. This is scientific terms called osmosis

4. carbon dioxide moves in the opposite direction.

5. oxygen is vitally important to the human body as it is a major ingredient required to produce energy in the muscles

Shark Finning

Shark finning is where people cut off the fins of a shark and make a soup out of it even tho it has no taste / flavor by people doing this it is making marine life die off quicker because charks are the apex predator of the oceans and the top of the food chain so if they die all the other fish below it on the food chain will die off because the sharks are not helping out with the marine life and for the coral reefs and they keep the ocean healthy.

Why is it a delicacy?

-Shark fin soup is considered a delicacy because a Chinese emperor created it which is known as the golden era in chinese history. This dish was created as a sign of wealth, power, and generosity. 

How is this impacting the ocean?

-Sharks help keep the ocean intact, and keep's the fishes from overpopulating.

 Whats is the main message of this poem:

The main message of this poem is that even if you do a little it can still impact and have an impact on the world. The poem is between the two people and it is about one person trying to save starfish but they couldn't save all on them just a few starfish.

This can be proved by these few lines in the poem:

You can't possibly make a difference!" 

The young man listened politely. 

Then bent down, picked up another starfish 

and threw it into the sea, 

past the breaking waves and said- 

"It made a difference for that one."

This proves that although he couldn't save all of them he could still have an impact. So a little might be all you can do but it may still help out.

Resilience

Growth Mindset:

Resilience:

even when it's extremely cold in the morning I still get out of my extremely warm bed and want to just stay in my bed until it's warmer.

Christianity Religion

  What is culture: Culture is when you are part of a group or a social section. This can include religion, sports, and where you are from, etc.

Why are we learning about the culture: We are learning about different cultures so present something for the school culture day.

We have learned about many cultures and I learned about my culture more. In the New Zealand culture, we have many things that other places in the world think are different. For example, what we have and do in New Zealand is quite different from what they say to do and learn in the US. 

What I learned about other people's cultures: I learned that many different people have many different cultures. For example, the Filipino culture is present a lot different this is shown by the clothes they wear and the food they eat. Also the practices they do at places like home.

What did I make and how does this connect with my culture I didn't personally do this at the bottom the credit is there.:

This works with my culture because it shows a common Christian sign surrounded by a heart which all work in the Christian culture which is part of my culture and the culture I was grown up in.

What is culture: Definition: the ideas, customs, and social behavior of a particular people or society.

This Means: Your culture is anything or group you identify with eg, where you are born, your beliefs, and your practices, etc.

Queen sang We Will Rock You and We Are The Champoins at Live Aid because We Will Rock You and we are The Champions were meant to be a pair - an ideal way of whipping up Queen fans into excitement, and the ideal way of kicking off their new album. The song was the opening track on News Of The World, which was hot on the heels by We Are The Champions. He never sang tho songs for any sort of protest they were for the music it's self someone could probably make a similar concert in 2021 people could use the new technology and that would make it a lot easier because everything could be set up extremely quick.

What is the meaning of this song:

This song is about how everyone wants peace and people don't want the fight in the Vietnam war to continue. This song was made because many believe that their country couldn't be fighting in a war that has nothing to do with them, and many thought that the war shouldn't have started to begin with so everyone started to fight for peace in their country.

This line proves this as all they want is peace and are trying to tell people to give peace a chance hence the name give peace a chance: (This line is the chorus)

This song became a staple in anti-war song and this song was big on the movement for countries like America because why should they be fighting in another country civil war. Civil wars are wars between the city and it's kind of pointless because they get nothing out of it anyway.

What is this song about: This song is about how the sun represents the light so the light is coming out on the darkness and is lighting everything up.  This shows that there is good in the world and the sun coming is representing that good is coming and good is here. This also shows that the dark days are gone.

These lyrics show this point as without the sun (light) it's dark and unclear so the light is a new start almost which is one of the things the Beatles stand for.

How does this compare to a song from the 1940s: This song is very different from a song from the 1940s because it's not a standstill song that is very structured but instead upbeat and loud compare to the basic songs from those times. These songs were huge to help with culture and how people present themselves in today's day and age. This song was a lot more active and upbeat compared to the 1940s.

Ph Test

 Aim: To test the PH of a bunch of household chemicals.

Method: Add a few drops of each chemical to a spot on your spotting tile. you test the chemicals using litmus paper. Put a few drops of universal indicator to test the chemicals. 

Results: Toilet cleaner in blue litmus paper was red, in red litmus paper it was red, in Universal Indicator it was red. Dishwashing liquid in blue litmus paper it was blue, in red litmus paper it was blue, in Universal Indicator it was Green/Yellow. Floor cleaner in blue litmus paper was blue, in red litmus paper it was Indigo, in Universal Indicator it was red. Spray and Wipe in blue litmus paper was blue, in red litmus paper it was blue, in Universal Indicator it was blue.

Discussion: If the litmus paper goes red it means it acid or if it goes blue it means its a base. Toilet cleaner is an acid because the litmus paper will go red. Dishwashing liquid is a base because the litmus paper went blue. Floor cleaner is also a base because the litmus paper goes blue. Spray and Wipe is a base because it's not corrosive and the paper went blue.

Conclusion: The experiment went good because I have already done this before so it wasn't that complicated. I wouldn't do anything differently because its pretty simple on how we have done it and you don't want it to be overly complicated.

When forcus's Great-Aunt Petronel dies, aged 86, Byrce and Focus have the beginning and end of a poem as clues to a long-forgotten mystery. After the wright brother immortalized themselves at kitty hawk, they went on to make a commercial aircraft. The first two were 'floatplanes', called hawks, and the last one was sold in New Zealand and later disappeared from official records. Had Petronel discovered the Hawk? Yes. Was she restoring it? She was in an abandoned hanger.  And what happened to the money from the American Army payroll? They used the money to help rebuild the Hawk in the hanger and build the hanger a bit more. 

The hawks where planes use in ww1 but one person wanted to rebuild one and fix it up and fly it around they used a lot of money and bought an abandoned hanger and used it to hold the plane in a place where no one would check in there so she built the plane after a long time and was going to fly it.. but never got around to it.

Overall: This book is an amazing book to read epically if you are bored / just feel like reading during class. 

Have a read for your self you might like it if you like war / military stuff.

Spirituals

This song is "Wade in the Water" it is a song that informs slaves how to escape because if they go in the water they cant be caught.

What is a spiritual: A spiritual is a song that was used to help slaves with things like how to escape and people still use it today to show the culture and background of black Americans. They were used heaps and sung throughout the day when slaves were hard at work. Nowadays you may hear them anywhere including in popular rap songs and from popular brands.

Who is Harriet Tubman? Harriet Tubman is known for helping slaves escape from the owners. As an ex-slave, she was used to the song that was sung and used music to help escape. The way they did this was to use an underground railroad that when all around and through the slave states. These railroads were kept secret and slave owners did not know about it.

Spiritual songs were sung by African slaves to give them hope and sometimes give secret messages to help them communicate without having the bad people listen. They used songs like 'wade in the water' so they can tell the people when they run go to the water and so the dogs can't track them when they run. These songs were also used by Harriet Tubman who was an enslaved woman who escaped and that used these songs to tell others that it's safe and to go to a certain place. She used the underground railway to which was a connected tunnel and safe house that was used to move more slaves up north where they would be free. Wade in the water is a popular one now for it was sung a lot. 'You don't believe I've been redeemed, Wade in the water, Just so the whole lake goes looking for me, God's gonna trouble the water'

Science - Model Atoms Hydrogen

AIM: To make a model atom 

 Method: 

1.Choose an atom to make (Between Hydrogen and Neon) 

2.Work out how many protons, neutrons, and electrons has. 

3.Hydrogen to Berylium uses the big beads. 

4.Boron to neon use the small beads. 

5.Assign protons and neutrons to a particular color bead. 

 6.Get a ball of blue tac and stick the protons and neutrons to this to make your nucules. 

7.Cut out the appropriate electron shells and draw on the electrons with a vivid. 

8.Connect the nucleus and electron shells with a piece of string. 

9.Create a label to go above the model so people know what you have created.

Discussion: The atomic and mass number was one, number of electrons one, and one proton, the arrange ment was one proton in the middle for the nucleus, the atom is 1 because its only has one of a proton and electron, becaus its the first on the perodic table its hydrogen, there are two shells one out outside and one on the inside.

Conclusion: 

it worked very well and next time I would try to do something "HARDER" and more complicated because the one I did Eg: hydrogen was extremely simple

this is about the power of failure and tring to get better. It is about learning from you fails and mistakes and to lean from them and have a amazing attatude whilst failing. "it was pretty shit" Akira Ioane said from his own side of his life. Then his Dad kickstarted his fight back wich helped him alot. his dad helping made him feel alot better about himself and he felt like he could do better.
